Installation Instructions
Important Notes: (Please read carefully before installation.)
1. System Requirements
ASP Report Maker
- Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7
ASP Report Maker requires a few other system files. If you do not have latest version of these files, you may experience ActiveX errors. To update your system, go the Microsoft download pages listed below.
ASP Report Maker requires the following database drivers:
Server
- All Windows OS that supports ASP
Browser
- Newer browsers (e.g. IE6+, FF3.6+, Safari 5+, latest Chrome and Opera) with JavaScript support enabled
- Adobe Flash Player 8 or later (optional, only required if Flash charting feature is used)
2. Installation
Important: Before you install ASP Report Maker, you must be logged in as a user with administrative privileges.
Note for Windows Vista users: In Windows Vista, User Account Control (UAC) and its Admin Approval Mode are enabled by default. When UAC is enabled, local administrator accounts run as standard user accounts. This means that when a member of the local Administrators group logs on, they run with their administrative privileges disabled. When you install, a User Account Control prompt is displayed, click Continue to start the application and let the installer run elevated.
It is also recommended that you turn off all antivirus or security softwares. (You can turn them back on after successful installation.)
Note: ASP Report Maker 5 can co-exist with previous version of ASP Report Maker. You do NOT need to uninstall previous version of ASP Report Maker if you don't want to.
Double-click on the downloaded executable
to start the installation process. Follow the prompts and change the settings
whenever necessary.
